Leah M. Caplan

Business Reorganizations and Financial Restructurings, Employment Law

Leah's practice focuses on corporate bankruptcy matters. She has represented secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, trustees, lenders, insurers and creditors' committees in numerous corporate reorganization matters, including Chapter 11 reorganizations, liquidations, preference actions and creditors' claims.

Leah also has extensive experience in contract drafting and negotiations. She has revised employee handbooks in accordance with current standards, drafted responses to EEOC complaints, and counseled employers on compliance with Federal and State employment-related laws and regulations, including the Americans With Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Leah graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1986, having received her B.A. from Northwestern University in 1982.  She was an associate at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, LLP, Assistant Legal Counsel at Cleveland State University, and an attorney at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland before joining Margulies & Levinson in 2003.  Leah is a member of the Cleveland Bar Association and formerly served on the Board of Trustees of the Cleveland Legal Aid Society. She is currently an Associate at Levinson LLP.
